A Cheerfull Sant Joan Pelós

Today, just after the summer solstice, Felanitx will be celebrating Sant Joan Pelós, the local version of John the Baptist, whose character has been represented cheerfully here since the end of the 19th century. May I invite you to come to Felanitx this afternoon at 18h00 to watch the saint dance and perform in the streets of Felanitx, accompanied by musicians of the local group s’Estol d’es Gerricó. The photo was taken during the 1930s in Felanitx, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain, by the local photographer, F. Bonnín.
